AMA MEDSTYLE STAT! Dr. Abel Scribe PhD - Fall 2007 |
|
AMA Manual of Style (2007) The American Medical Association Manual of Style provides instructions for authors and editors preparing research papers for review and publication (AMA Manual at Amazon.com). The latest edition (2007) is over 1000 pages, too long to easily condense to multiple versions of AMA Stat! as well as the Writer's Guide to AMA Style, at least in the interim. Therefore, priority has been given to the PDF version AMA Stat! Visit the main AMA page for AMA and ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) reference materials and links. AMA MedStyle Stat! is a quick reference to using the style of the American Medical Association in
research papers. It is based on the most recent (10th) edition of the AMA Manual of Style (2007), and has
been revised and expanded fall 2007. The latest version of the AMA MedStyle Stat! and other style
resources are available at www.docstyles.com. © Copyright 2007 by Dr. Abel Scribe PhD. The AMA Guide Home Page also has links to the Uniform Requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE-Vancouver), and the ICMJE Sample References from the National Library of Medicine (and their websites). There is also a link to the current NLM Index Medicus (now named the List of Journals Indexed for Medline). This list provides the required abbreviations for journal names when citing research sources. The Abridged Index Medicus is a key list of the top or core medical journals indexed by Medline ("AIM Core"), a more managable list of 120 jounrals (over 4,000 are on in the full list). |
